Jane + Aaron’s Wedding at Little Henri in Thornbury

March 26, 2019

Weddings

As far as relaxed couples go, Jane + Aaron are as chilled as they come! Their wedding was held at Little Henri in Melbourne’s inner northern suburb, Thornbury with a gathering of 76 of their closest family and friends.

The second I got in the door for groom preparations, Aaron gave me a bear hug and welcomed me in. I was so surprised and impressed that the boys were already half dressed (for my sake) despite the fact they didn’t need to leave for another 2 hours – I have the most wonderful grooms!! I was done within 30 minutes because the guys made my life so easy (again… I have the best grooms!!).

Before long, it was time to get to Jane + Aaron’s house for bridal preparations. When I arrived, I was greeted by two very vivacious doggies (Tulip & Teddy) who were no doubt thinking, ‘who dis? let’s play!’. The very talented Nicole Kene was putting the finishing touches on Jane’s makeup as I got upstairs to start on photographing details. It goes without saying that Jane looked incredible, Nicole did such an amazing job (I wish I could do my make up that well!). Jane had all her details gathered in a spot by the window which made my job that much easier – Jane, you’re the best!!

Can we all just agree that Jane looks absolutely smokin’..?! Can we all just agree that Jane looks absolutely smokin’..?!

It’s amazing how quickly time flies on a wedding day. Even when you think you’ve got a few hours to get ready! Before we knew it, it was time to go to the first look location at Ray Bramham Gardens in Preston.

When Jane + Aaron saw each other for the first time that day, it was heartfelt, incredibly emotional and beautiful. It’s moments like these that I love to capture!

We hung around the gardens for a while to capture more bride + groom portraits and wedding party portraits before making our way to Little Henri. We were so blessed that the heavy rain in the morning had cleared up and gave us a gloriously sunny day (which can be challenging when it comes to photography, but we managed ;)).

Guests had already started arriving when we pulled up at Little Henri, so the girls had to duck away quickly to a bar just down the road to avoid being spotted! The guests didn’t have to be kept waiting long before the ceremony began with Dean Eddy officiating the celebration.

After a bit of mingling, family and group photos, it was time for some ultra quick golden hour portraits. Jane + Aaron were such great sports, leaving their guests for 5 minutes to grab a few extra portraits.

The rest of the night was chilled with speeches from Jane’s father and 2 of Aaron’s groomsmen. The cake cutting followed soon after before I left Jane + Aaron to party on with their family + friends!

Thank you for having me, Jane + Aaron! You guys were amazing, your friends and your family were hilarious and so warm and inviting! Wishing you both every happiness in the next chapter of your lives!!

Scroll down for more photos from the day 😉

P.s. Loved Teddy + Tulip – they were the CUTEST!
