I’ve always had a passion for story telling through the written word and through the art of photography. It’s almost ironic since English is my second language and I couldn’t speak, read or write it until I was about 6 or 7 years old. And then I discovered books.. lot and lots of books! By the time I reached high school, I was devouring a book a day. I’m a self confessed bookworm and even to this day, I still love to read.

So why have I decided to start a website / blog? Well also in high school I picked up my very first camera, not your modern day DSLR but an old school box camera where photographic paper and dark rooms were the norm. Since then I’ve purchased a pro mirrorless camera (although, props to those who shoot on film!) and my passion for photography has soared in leaps and bounds. I started out shooting landscapes (which I absolutely love – after all, it gets me out into nature) and have shot everything from street to portraiture to couples. The combination of telling a story through blogging and images is something that I’ve always wanted to begin doing.. After almost a year of dreaming and thinking about starting my blog and website, I’ve finally taken the plunge!

‘Why weddings?’ you might ask. The answer is simple, who doesn’t love, love? I believe we were created to be relational, that we exist to love and be loved. Nothing gets me more excited to see a couple’s joy and love as they commit to one another. Not to mention…. the pretty details! Oh my goshhh the details get me so excited and inspire me to create beautifully styled images.

It is my mission to document every detail, every emotion and every moment of a couple’s big day, to preserve and tell their unique love story for generations to come.

I hope you enjoy my page and follow along on this exciting new journey of mine.

I'm Sonya and I'm so happy you're here. This blog is a journal about real weddings, real couples, editorials and all about my travels, fashion, and style. Stay a while and say hello!
