All About Photography Timing
It is ALWAYS my goal to create images that you are going to freak out over later! So here are some timing tips to make the most of your photography.
THE GUYS
45-60 minutes. Nothing posed here, just the boys having beers and hanging out before getting into their suits.
DETAILS + THE GIRLS
45-60 minutes is all I need to capture your dress, veil, shoes, rings, invitation suites, etc. (I can usually get these done while stepping into the getting ready area and photographing everyone hanging out at the same time!)
GETTING INTO THE DRESS
This can take 10 minutes or 45! You just never know! This is an area where we build in extra time just in case! Also, I love having a few minutes to capture just the you in your gown – trust me, you’re gonna look HAWT and you’ll want some portraits, girl!
WEDDING PARTY PORTRAITS
30-45 minutes depending on the size of the party. I always capture the entire group together, just the girls, just the guys and if we have time, individual shots too!
COUPLES PORTRAITS
Your couples portrait time is one of the best parts of your day. This is where we get to have some fun and shoot in some rad locations! These images capture the essence of YOU; the big smiles, the laughs and all the magical, raw moments in between. They are the ones that you will fall in love with and want to print and hang, or have featured throughout your album. I recommend allowing at least 45 minutes to an hour to give you both some time to spend some quiet moments together.
GROUP + FAMILY FORMALS
I make it my mission to make group + family formals fast, easy and as efficient as possible! It’s always nice to look back on these pictures to remember who you celebrated with! I recommend 30 minutes for family formals, but not at the expense of your couples portrait time.
CEREMONY/VENUE DETAILS
I love to photograph all the gorgeous ceremony + reception details and decorations you spent months painstakingly picking out as they form a part of your story. All I need is 15 minutes for each location.
